Bookplates

The bookplate is often forgotten when people think about paratextual elements in books, probably because they're generally not as flashy or adorable as doodles and birthday inscriptions. These bookplates can tell us so much about the previous owners of books though: who they were, where they went to school or church, where they lived, and in the case of these featured here, if they were good students.
