Inscriptions and Identity

What could be more useful in determining who a reader was than an inscription that declares just that? In this section you will find various examples of inscriptions from the Baldwin, ranging from simple scrawling of names to author signatures to birthday wishes! All of these can indicate something about the reader- how loved the book was, who owned it, if it was a present, and even what socioeconomic class they may have been a part of.
